Welcome on this blog full of information about Western Comics, and offcourse the comics.

Western comics is a comics genre usually depicting the American Old West frontier (usually anywhere west of the Mississippi River) and typically set during the late nineteenth century. The term is generally associated with an American comic books genre published from the late 1940s through the 1950s (though the genre had continuing popularity in Europe, and persists in limited form in American comics today). Western comics of the period typically featured dramatic scripts about cowboys, gunfighters, lawmen, bounty hunters, outlaws, and Native Americans. Accompanying artwork depicted a rural America populated with such iconic images as guns, cowboy hats, vests, horses, saloons, ranches, and deserts, contemporaneous with the setting.royr

You can access the information and comics through the sidebar.

The comics are mostly in packages from around 100mb, inside these rar-packages you will find the comics in cbr format.

You can view the comics with any cbr-reader like CDisplay or ComicRack.

Most comics are from the 50’s-80’s with some 90’s.

I did not scan the comics myself only collect them from various sites on the internet, internet archive, Usenet Newsgroups and torrents.
So thanks to all the scanners and uploaders.

This blog is purely ment to preserve the comics and to enjoy them, no financial meanings are involved, if you like the comics buy them as long as they are availabe, because nothing can beat the feeling of reading a real comic.

If you find something wrong (downloads, numbering, information) please let me know so that i can correct the error.

Hello. Some of the titles you mentioned will be coming on this blog. Dale Evans and Western Comics for sure. Almost 200 titles, so i guess there will be some recovery to do with this blog.

      • Don Bearden says:

A progress report on that recovery project. Thanks to you and the fact that I pulled out of storage my cds of my scans I got lucky. Some of those old, old cds were damaged beyond recovery, but surprisingly, between your blogs and my cds, I have recovered about 350 gigabytes so far including quite a few didn’t have that I didn’t have. What i do have is newspaperstories from Casey Ruggles and they will be appearing on my blog with newspaperstrips hopefully somewehere at the end of this month, or else in the beginning of next month.

Hello again! – sorry for being a pest, but this time I have a legitimate issue. BOYS RANCH – a much-sought-after, hard-to-find title – is a mess! Every issue has pages wildly out of order and several stories are incomplete, which is hard to tell because most of the pages are out of order. Don’t take my word for it – see for yourself!

It’s a damn shame, because this comic has long been considered Simon & Kirby’s best ‘kid-gang’ title, yet you rarely come across it these days.

Thanks, i will see what i can do about it, i can’t check all comics before placing them, that will take me too much time, so it’s good that people like you make comments when something is not right. When i found better copies i will let know in a comment.

I think someone put them together from a collection or something like that because on some pages i see at the bottom numberings from 1-208 or something and continuing from 1 issue to another. Deleted the advertisements also i believe.
